Meditation on the Gold Coast

think right, feel great

SCROLL DOWN

Meditation on the Gold Coast

think right, feel great

Meditation calms the mind, reduces stress and enables me to feed myself, the soul, with spiritual thoughts and feelings.

Inner peace and happiness naturally arise when the mind becomes still. When I experience these qualities on a regular basis confidence and dignity are restored. This awakens hope and gives strength to cope better with the busyness and difficulties in life.

Raja Yoga meditation can be practiced by anyone, anywhere, at anytime as rituals, mantras and postures are not involved.

We do not charge fees for any of our activities. Contributions are most welcome.

about us

about us

Brahma Kumaris Gold Coast is a branch of Brahma Kumaris Australia.  Brahma Kumaris Australia is part of a global network of organisations with over 8500 centres in over 130 countries with its spiritual headquarters, the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (BKWSU) in Mt Abu, Rajasthan, India.

Established in 1937 BKWSU was inspired by the vision of a world in which all individuals have developed their potential, living in harmony with others and with the environment. The university works to promote peace at all levels; through personal development, local and national initiatives and international projects.

BKWSU is a non-governmental organisation in general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), in consultative status with UNICEF and is affiliated to the Department of Public Information.

Our centres are run by people who practise the philosophy and lifestyle that they teach and they volunteer their time and resources.

No fees are charged for any of our activities.  This is in accordance with the principles of the Brahma Kumaris who believe that a price tag cannot be attached to the spiritual dimension of life.  Voluntary contributions are most welcome from those who have benefited from our activities.

What do we live by?  ….. Unverified beliefs handed down through generations that draw upon fear, a God figure who either rewards or punishes according to how well His/Her rules are followed, or an embracing of universal laws and metaphysical principles of consciousness and expansion where self seeking and self reliance are urged in the process of finding and awakening universal truths within the mind and heart?

Maureen Chen is an international speaker and teacher with the Brahma Kumaris.

Based in Asia since 1981 she has helped to establish and sustain BK centres throughout Asia. In Hong Kong she was the Chairperson of Unity for Peace, Secretary of the Living Values Education and Secretary of the Asian Business Leadership Exchange. She was the founder of Food Link, a charity linking hotels and restaurants with social welfare organisations.  Maureen spent 4 years in Cambodia and was was instrumental in setting up Living Values Education programmes and a social enterprise for victims of landmines, the Khmer Independent Life Team.

In August 2010, she moved to India where she organised dialogues in 50 cities for the ‘the Future of Power project’ which brought leaders together to explore the use of power.  She has now returned to Australia to Coordinate the Asia Pacific regional office of the Brahma Kumaris in Sydney.
